Etude House VIP Girl Lipstick Base REVIEW

Product claim (according to Etude House website):
Pre-Lipstick base smoothens lip texture with natural tone to improve makeup longevity.

REVIEW:

Product: It is a thin cream/gel type product that comes out as a whitish pinky-beige color with very fine reflective properties that you can hardly see. In my opinion, it is these light reflecting pigments that enhance the color of the lipstick without altering the original color. When spread onto the lips, it turns more translucent, slightly concealing uneven discolorations on the lips. It moisturizes just a bit, but if your lips are really dry, you can put a small amount of lip balm before applying the lipstick base.

Application: Goes on smoothly when applied using fingers. It is not advisable to use it straight from the tube as it has a tendency to dispense too much product due to its runny consistency.

Longevity: If you’re not going to be eating, it can last up to 4-5 hours without reapplying your lipstick.

Verdict: True to its claim, the lipstick base really does improve lipstick longevity. It even enhances the lipstick color without altering the original color. The only downside of this product is its thin consistency

Etude House Happy Tea Time Cleansing Cream (Lemon Tea) REVIEW

Product claim (according to Etude House website):
Vitalizing cleansing cream with lemon tea extract.
REVIEW:

Product: This product is a thick cream that smells citrus-y. The scent is very invigorating and perks you up, which is a good thing when you’re feeling sleepy and lazy to remove all your makeup. It kinda reminds me of my mom’s Pond’s cold cream. It has almost the same consistency, and also the same greasy film residue. It removes makeup fairly well.

Application: I suggest you wipe this off with wet wipes, or you can also remove it with regular tissue and then take away the greasiness by cleansing with an alcohol-free toner. For the cleanest feel, just wash it off with facial wash. However, this last option can be drying to your skin so just apply moisturizer afterwards.

Tip: To avoid contamination that may lead to breakouts (since the jar is big and takes a long time to consume), use a scoop or spatula to get the product.

Verdict: The product claims to be vitalizing, which I agree with, but overall, I’m not impressed with it. I feel that there are better makeup removers out there, whether it’s from another line of cleansers from Etude House, or from other brands. The search is still on for my HG makeup remover. :) Please suggest good makeup removers in the comments.  Thanks! :)
